Forbes Richest Billionaire List 2018 Is Out, Bill Gates Ranking Slips
The Forbes richest Billionaires list 2018 list is out, and Bill Gates who had been at the top of the list for two consecutive years has slipped to the number 2. Yes, Jeff Bezos, the Amazon Chief has topped the list this year.
This Forbes richest Billionaires list consist of almost 2200 billionaires, their net worth is near $9.1 trillion. This is for the first time that Jeff Bezos has topped the Forbes richest Billionaires Annual list. According to the report, Jeff Bezos’ net worth is whopping $112 Billion, while the Bill gates got the second place with $90 Billion.
Do you know, in last 24 year, the Microsoft founder Bill Gates has topped the list not for single times. Bill Gates has topped the Forbes richest Billionaires list 18 times. In 2018 Forbes richest Billionaires list the third position was taken by Warren Buffet with a whopping $84 billion.
US President Trump’s position slipped almost 200 places, whose rank was 544 last year, but he slipped to 766 this year in Forbes richest Billionaires list. Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian on the list at the 19th position with a net worth of $40.1 billion.
Nirav Modi is no Longer a part of India’s Forbes Richest Billionaire List
The fugitive diamond trader Nirav Mod who has been accused of pulling off the country’s biggest bank fraud is no longer a part of India’s billionaires’ club. Nirav Modi had featured in the Forbes 2017, richest list with a net worth of $1.8billion, is not able to get in 2018 ranking list.
“Nirav Modi is among the drop-offs from this year’s the list, along with Papa John’s Pizza founder John Schnatter, Christoffel Wiese of South Africa, and Saudi Arabia’s Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Al Saud. Forbes’ website describes Nirav Modi as the founder of Firestar Diamond, “which claimed to have more than USD 2 billion in sales. He later launched his own Nirav Modi Brand with 14 stores in such locations as Mumbai, Hong Kong, London, Macau and New York”.
The United States is home to the Forbes Richest Billionaire List
According to the report, this year, 259 newcomers were added to the list and the number of women rose to 256, up from 227 in 2017. Alice Walton, daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, is the richest woman on the list with a fortune of $46 billion.
The United States is home to the greatest number of billionaires, with 585, followed by Greater China (including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) with 476, Germany with 123, India with 119 and Russia with 102. California alone has 144 billionaires, more than any single country besides the U.S. and China.
