Tariq Jameel Sahab is one of the most famous preachers of Tableeghi Jamat, who takes parts in Tableeghi Jamat Congregation (Ijetema) across the world. He belongs to Pakistan, but he has huge fans around the world including India. Prior to being selected in World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims, Maulana Tariq Jameel in 2013/14 was listed as a popular speaker in the edition of the book The Muslim 500.

What is the qualification of Maulana Tariq Jameel?

Tariq Jameel received his basic education from Government College University. It is located in Lahore — one of the oldest colleges in Pakistan. Its alumni network includes two Nobel laureates named Abdus Salam and Har Gobind Khorana, as well as philosopher Muhammad Iqbal, World Court President Muhammad Zafarullah Khan, four Pakistani prime ministers and many Rhodes Scholars.

Maulana Jameel received his deeni (Islamic) education from Jamia Arabia — located in Raiwid — a town located in Lahore. Maulana is known for delivering speeches on communal harmony, tolerance and peace. He does not leave any stone unturned to unite the people of the planet by his speeches. He always spread the message of ethnic and sectarian harmony.

Is it hard to find a preacher who only talks about peace and unity rather than divisiveness. But, when you listen to his speeches, he never promotes divisiveness, hatred among the people. He only wants his Muslim brother to be known as only Muslim instead of Suuni and Shia Muslim.

In most of his bayans (public speeches), Maulana Tariq Jameel focuses on self-rectification, self-accountability, avoidance of violence, honesty in life, and urges Muslim brother to follow Allah’s command. He shows prophet Muhammed  صلى الله عليه وسلم  as an example and stresses to follow his path, because earth would never ever witness a better person than Prophet Muhammed  صلى الله عليه وسلم .

Maulana Tariq Jameel Met International Human Rights Commission Chief Ambassador

In May, 2014, Tariq Jameel Sahab met International Human Rights Commission Chief Ambassador along with Asad Bashir at Dubai. Chief Ambassador thanked him for promoting the true picture of Islam.

There are dozens of videos and audio clips of Tariq Jameel doing the rounds on social media. He not only preaches in Tableeghi Jamat or in Pakistan but also in his tours around the world.

In January 2014, Pakistani model turned actress Veena Malik had said that her interaction with Maulana Tariq Jameel changed her life completely. Following that, she quit the nefarious showbiz industry.

As per news reports which have not been confirmed by  Times Trends, Pakistani Cricketer turned Politician — Imran Khan or any of his close associates met Tariq Jameel in August 2014, who advised him to conduct his Long March in a peaceful way. Applying his request, the march name was changed from ‘Tsunami March’ to ‘Azadi March’.

On 4 November 2014, he called on Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s residence Jati Umra, and extended the invitation to participate in annual Tableeghi Ijtima to be held in Raiwind Markaz.

The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, Jordan has been publishing from last ten years its list “The Muslim 500” having names and profiles of the World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims.  Its 10th edition released in October 2018, in which Maulana Tariq Jameel placed at #40.

“Tariq Jameel is a prominent Deobandi scholar who is also one of the most popular preachers in Pakistan. He belongs to the Tablighi Jamaat group and his lectures focus on the subject of self-purification, avoidance of violence, observance of Allah’s orders and pursuing the way of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)”, the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, Jordan, said in its introductory remarks.

Tariq Jameel Delivers Sermon at International University

Renowned Islamic preacher Maulana Tariq Jameel in April this year delivered a sermon and led Juma prayers at the new campus of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). The prayer was attended by the University Rector, Dr Masoom Yasinzai, Vice Presidents of university, Deans, Directors and a large number of students and famous figures of the society.

“Educational institutions are the places which make the future of nations by nurturing young minds,” Maulana Tariq Jameel quoted by Urdupoint as saying.

Maulana focused on dissemination of peace and practice of patience in the practical life. Maulana Tariq Jameel urged the youth to obey parents and also called parents to not forcefully implement their views on their children.

How Tariq Jameel Becomes famous Maulana Tariq Jameel Sahab?

When Tariq Jameel was a child, he lived a modest life. At that time, religion was not much important for him until he got admitted in the medical college in Lahore. Tariq Jameel is a son of Fudel Lord — famous but unknown for us. He comes from a Muslim Rajput family. He had hectares of lands and served in the agriculture sector and had a good name in the agricultural market where he resided.

His parents did not belong to Tableeghi Jamaat at all and wanted their son to become a doctor. Hence, after matriculation, they admitted him in the medical college at Lahore. Were he lived in a hostel with a number of friends. In that hostel, there was a person — a tablighi —  who approached Tariq Jameel. Tariq Jameel said that on several occasions he kicked him out from the room.

There was another disabled person in the hostel who was a Namazi and tableeghi too. Tariq Jameel Sahab inspired by that disabled person how he performs namaz despite living on the fourth floor and come to namaz. Initially, he went to three days Jamat, after that he continued to go with tableeghi Jamat. After his four-month, he decided to leave the studies (medical) and pursue Islamic studies. His parents were angry and call him a stupid idiot to leave the studies and become a Maulana. His father kicked him out of the house and told him not to come to home again.

Tariq Jameel left his house in (1972-75) got himself admitted in raiwind Madrasah, where Moulana Jamshed Ahmed was his teacher. He spent almost 10-year in Madrasah and became an Alim (who knows a lot about Islam).

Maulana Tariq Jameel has two brothers, one is a heart surgeon and one is a zameendaar. His parents died. Notably. Tariq Jameel is the person behind the transition of Pakistani Cricketer Saeed Anwar, Junaid Jamshed, Yousuf Youhana, Pakistani actress Veena Malik and many others.

Since he accustomed to preach, Tariq Jameel defies all conflicting beliefs and proclaims that the Islam is for all. In order to convey this message, Maulana has traveled the world far wide preaching the beautiful message of Islam.
