Addressing to the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China’s Qingdao city the prime minister Narendra Modi has given his full attention on connectivity in the neighborhood and in the Eurasian region and said the same priority for India. report ani.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was set for two days in the Qingdao city in China.
On the Saturday evening, Prime minister Modi reached to China’s Qingdao city and shared his personal conversation before the the commencement of Summit with China’s Xi jinping, Russian Vldimir putin and with Afgahanistan’s prime minister Ashraf Ghani and other nations leaders.
The prime minister of India Narendra Modi said that the definition of geography is changing by physical and digital connectivity thus we are now at the same stage here today. Therefore, the connectivity with our neighborhood is our priority.
Before the commencement of the session, the day started with a welcome ceremony and a group photo of eight leaders of SCO member-states.
Prime minister Modi, also focused on tourism and said that the India’s main focus is to increase the number of tourist from SCO countries to visit the country. Further he said that, India has only 6% of tourist from SCO nations and now therefore we are planing to increase this number at least double and for this will organize an SCO food festival and Buddhist festival in India by sharing our culture together.
The members of the Summit signed the Qingdao declaration and some other agreements on peace, security, economic cooperation, tourism, ahead of the session member met with Xi jinping and shared hand shake.
Now, India has become full-time member of the this summit and first SCO summit India has attended. In June 2017, During Astana summit in Kazakhistan, India and Pakistan became full members of the organisation.
Finally, when summit over, prime minister Modi reached to Delhi at Palam air force station from China’s Qingdao city at 10 pm O’clock.
